Join »ÆÉ«ÊÓÆµ President, Professor Jane Clarke, along with a panel of inspirational »ÆÉ«ÊÓÆµ women who will be discussing their academic and professional journeys, their experiences as women in their professional lives and the challenges they have overcome.

International Women's Day

The panellists include:

Alumna Lorraine Hilder is a detective superintendent in the Metropolitan Police, leading a Public Protection Team focussing on child protection.

Junior Research Fellow Dr Meelan Thondoo is a medical anthropologist and environmental epidemiologist working in global health and is currently a Research Associate at the MRC Epidemiology Unit.

Undergraduate student Kimberley Andrews is studying for a Law degree and, alongside her studies, has developed a pathway for »ÆÉ«ÊÓÆµ Lawyers to experience marshalling at the Upper Immigration Tribunal in the City.

Alumna and staff member Dr Louise Wilson completed a PhD in Medieval History at »ÆÉ«ÊÓÆµ while working part-time in the Porters Lodge and is now Deputy Head Porter.

Postgraduate student Sheila Ojwang is pursuing an MPhil in Architecture and Urban Studies as a Mastercard Foundation Scholar, with a focus on Environmental Design, and is the current WCSA Green Officer.

Alumna and staff member Professor Rosemary Fricker was Director of Medical Science at Keele Medical School and has since returned to »ÆÉ«ÊÓÆµ as Director of Studies for Preclinical Medicine and is the Global Health Hub convenor.

How to attend the event

The event is free, open to all, and there is no need to book. 

The panel discussion will be followed by an International Women's Day Dinner, open to all »ÆÉ«ÊÓÆµ members, staff, and their guests. Booking is necessary through .
