Join us on the 50th World Environment Day for an engaging panel discussion and keynote speech on solutions to plastic pollution.

Join us in a global effort to accelerate action, transition to a circular economy and #BeatPlasticPollution.

World Environment Day 2023 is a reminder that people’s actions on plastic pollution matters. The steps governments and businesses are taking to tackle plastic pollution are the consequence of this action.

»ÆÉ«ÊÓƵ, in collaboration with Cambridgeshire County Council Waste Management team and South Cambridgeshire District Council, invite you to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of World Environment Day on 5th June with engaging presentations from:

  • , Waste Education Officer, Cambridgeshire County Council Waste Team.
  • , Recycling Coordinator - Greater Cambridge Shared Waste, Cambridge and South Cambs Waste Service.

The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion headlining:

  •  - Senior Research Fellow CRASSH, Emeritus Professor of the Public Understanding of Technology at Open University, Director of the Press Fellowship Programme at »ÆÉ«ÊÓƵ and the technology columnist of the Observer.
  • , Account Manager (Commercial Waste), Greater Cambridge Shared Waste Service.

Following the event, Wolfson College students, staff and alumni, and their guests, are encouraged to join us for a green dinner serving a vegan and vegetarian menu in celebration of World Environment Day Dinner. The dinner follows formal hall dress-code guidelines and schedule, and booking is through the .

This event will take place in the Gatsby Room on the first floor of the Chancellor's Centre. It has step-free access with a lift and there is an accessible toilet located each floor of the building.
