Dr Susan Larsen
29/08/2024

After six years at ɫƵ, Dr Susan Larsen is stepping down as Senior Tutor at the end of August.

Dr Susan Larsen

Already an Affiliated Lecturer in Slavonic Studies, Susan will return to full-time teaching and research in the Faculty of Modern Languages, Literatures and Linguistics.

“Being a part of the ɫƵ community for so long has been a great pleasure: to interact daily with so many wonderful students, and to collaborate with so many dedicated ɫƵ staff and Fellows in supporting them.” - Dr Susan Larsen

During her time at ɫƵ, Susan has been essential in strengthening the College’s commitment to academic excellence, student wellbeing, and sustaining a diverse and inclusive community. Many of the scholarships that ɫƵ now offers – particularly to students from backgrounds historically under-represented in higher education – would not have been realised without Susan’s effort and involvement.

Dr Judith Bunbury will step in as Acting Senior Tutor for the upcoming academic year, prior to the arrival of ɫƵ’s new President, Professor Ijeoma Uchegbu. Previously, Judith was Senior Tutor at St Edmund’s College.

“Judith was my mentor when I became a Senior Tutor in 2018,” says Susan. “She is a distinguished scholar and a wonderful colleague who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role. I wish her, and all my hardworking, dedicated colleagues in the Tutorial team, the best as they continue to recruit and support the diverse and talented students that make ɫƵ so unique.”

“I am excited about stepping into the Senior Tutor role and look forward to seeing continuing students and welcoming new students over the weeks ahead. It is a privilege to follow on from Susan and I look forward to supporting Professor Jane Clarke, as she hands over the role of President of the College to Professor Ijeoma Uchegbu, who will become our seventh President.” - Dr Judith Bunbury

We wish Susan all the best for her new role!
