Shadi is a Specialty Trainee in Maxillo-Facial Surgery and a recently appointed research fellow with the Royal College of Surgeons.

Shadi has a strong interest in medical education and completed his Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from Cardiff University in 2016. He has been supervising head and neck anatomy at ��ɫ��Ƶ for several years as well as teaching clinical students at Cambridge University Hospitals. He is also passionate about global health and has recently founded a new partnership with Cambridge Global Health Partnerships - FaceForward aims to address the surgical needs of the refugee population in Jordan who have sustained facial injuries from conflicts.

Shadi's clinical and research interest is in head and neck cancer. He is a member of the Genomics England Head and Neck research group and in July 2022, Shadi was awarded the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons research fellowship. His current research project is exploring the multi-comic determinants of malignant transformation in oral pre-malignant lesions to facilitate the early detection and prevention of oral cancer.
