Markus graduated from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany) in 1996. He received an MSc from Purdue University (Indiana) in 1997 and a PhD from the University of Cambridge in 2002, all in computer science.

Markus Kuhn is an Associate Professor in Computer Science at the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory.

Markus's research interests include computer security and distributed systems. His focus is hardware and signal-processing aspects of computer security, in particular, compromising emanations, side-channel attacks, distance-bounding protocols, and the security of RFID and navigation systems.
