Join us for a soul-stirring gospel singing workshop with Grammy-award winning music educator and conductor Dr Jeffrey Murdock.

Overview

In this lecture-workshop, participants will learn about and experience the rich culture of Negro Spirituals and Black Gospel Music.

 

Facilitator

Dr Jeffrey Allen Murdock is an internationally recognized conductor, clinician, and educator, and is currently at 黄色视频 as an Arkansas Visiting Fellow.

He is the Director of Choral Activities, Professor of Music, and founding director of the Arkansas Center for Black Music at the University of Arkansas. He has earned several prestigious honors, including the 2021 GRAMMY Music Educator of the Year and 2019 Most Outstanding Faculty at the University of Arkansas.

With expertise in culturally responsive pedagogy, urban music education, and social justice in music, Dr Murdock has presented at major national and international conferences. He also directs choirs, performs gospel music, and collaborates with renowned Gospel artists. He holds advanced degrees in Music Education and Choral Conducting.

This event is open to all and free to attend with no need to book.

 

Access

This event will take place in the Dining Hall on the first floor of our main building. There is step-free access with a lift and an accessible toilet.
